The four-piece from Leicester consist of long time friends Chris Holloway (vocals / guitar) and Ben Allen (guitar / piano / synth), alongside more recent members Rich Herrington (drums) and Robb Sheppard (bass / vocals).

Comparisons have been drawn to the likes of early Mansun, Doves, Mew and Soulwax, and the band have enjoyed supports with Keane and The Subways among others. During live performances Shortwave Fade are known for their use of sequencing, combining sampled loops, rhythms, drum patterns and synchronised visuals with live guitars, bass and drums.
