Since moving to Los Angeles from his native Germany in the 1980s, Nils has traveled PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) on numerous occasions. So when it came time for this acclaimed contemporary jazz artist to name the breezy title track of his current album, he looked no further than his virtual backyard. In the same tradition as Nat King Cole’s “Route 66” and Bob Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited,” Pacific Coast Highway is a roadside celebration of America, this time from the musical viewpoint of a bedazzled and grateful immigrant. Featuring nine exquisite original compositions, the disc includes the hit title track and stellar interpretations of Carole King’s “You’ve Got A Friend” and the 1980 Toto classic, “Georgy Porgy.” Dreamy, romantic and delectably sexy, Pacific Coast Highway comes off like the jazz‑funk soundtrack to some Great American road movie.


Accompanying Nils on his musical journey is a contemporary Who’s‑Who of jazz and pop, including drummer Steve Ferrone (George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Average White Band), bassist Abe Laboriel (Herbie Hancock, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles), percussionist Alex Acuna (Wayne Shorter, Rickie Lee Jones, Tracy Chapman), guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr. (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna), saxophonist Gerald Albright (Anita Baker, Whitney Houston), and singer Siedah Garrett (Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones).

Another Nils started to create his songs in 2005. He wrote several Lyrics a long time before he started thinking of really putting those lyrics into a song. He lives in Dortmund, Germany and was born on September 11th 1986.

The Nils was a Canadian power-pop punk-rock band originating in Montreal, Quebec which produced several releases between 1978 and 1994.
The band was founded in 1978 by then 12-year old Alex Soria (1966-2004) with his brother Carlos Soria. Other members of The Nils were Jean "Johnny" Lortie and later Alex MacSween on drums (currently with Bionic and Detention), Guy "Chico" Caron (Bass) and Chris Spedding (Guitar, Keyboards and Producer of their debut-album).
The band never achieved widespread fame despite critical success and a following amongst other musicians in the genre. Many famous bands loved the Nils or were directly influenced by them: i.e. The Goo Goo Dolls, Superchunk, or the Meat Puppets.
The Nils' first full-length (self-titled) album was released in 1987 at "Rock Hotel records". But they didn't have big hits outside underground radio also their song-writing had critical success.
The band lasted, in increasingly exhausted form, till the early 1990s, when weariness and drug problems sidelined them.
When the Profile label Rock Hotel subsidiary collapsed shortly after the release of the Nils' self-titled debut, the group went with it.
The two brothers were off the scene for several years but in the late '90s Alex Soria formed the melodic-punk band Chino.
In 1996 the live-recording Green Fields in Daylight by The Nils was released.
There's also a Nils-tribute record called Scratches and Needles (1998) that includes contributions by Down by Law and Punchbuggy.
The Nils had a brief reunion in 2003, which led some hope that like other eighties heroes, the Nils would get their due a couple of decades later. But Alex Soria died 2004 apparently after being hit by a train.
