Napoleon IIIrd is a highly original singer‑songwriter from Leeds. His music is a tangle of sounds and melodies made from piles of antique organs and car‑boot keyboards, strummed chords and driving glitch‑beats. Many of his songs are world‑weary comments on modern life, set against an expansive musical backdrop.

Napoleon IIIrd has released two early EPs and an album, entitled «In Debt To:», which met with widespread critical acclaim. The video for the lead single, the anthemic «Hit Schmooze For Me», featured Mr IIIrd persistently chasing a large blue bat, and was a regular fixture on MTV in 07/08.

2009 saw the release of the Hideki Yukawa EP, and national tours with Wild Beasts and Yo Majesty. He also played a spectacular show in the main room of London's palatial Koko for Club NME.

He is currently writing new material for release in 2010.

Napoleon IIIrd has also remixed artists including The Cribs, ¡Forward, Russia!, Sky Larkin, Mat Riviere and Los Campesinos!, and played alongside bands as diverse as Howling Bells, Damo Suzuki, Hot Chip, The Research, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Chris T‑T and Jeremy Warmsley.
