It has been two years since their last release and now LONELY DRIFTER KAREN are back, stronger than ever before. Following a series of events: the amicable departure of their long time drummer, the growing use of their music in a number of films & commercials and a successful 10 date tour in China, the core of the group — Austrian singer/guitarist Tanja Frinta & Spanish keyboardist/arranger Marc Melià Sobrevias have been rebuilding the circuit board of the spaceship LONELY DRIFTER KAREN. The result: a series of songs that shatter any pre‑conceived notions of their music, and take the listener on an enticing journey through sound & space.

This time, Mission Control is firmly rooted in the city of Brussels, Belgium, the busy and energetic capital of Europe. From there, Tanja & Marc have enlisted the help of young French guitarist/multi‑instrumentalist Clément Marion, live percussionists and drum machines for their sound explorations and concerts. What results is a voyage to the outer reaches of their universe, more confident and wild than ever. This new song‑cycle is not just a departure from the past, it is a clear evolution, a hybridisation of technology & intuition: analog electronics, Asiatic arpeggios, sliding bass‑synths, sinuous guitar riffs and funky grooves provide the motherboard for their secret power: the vibrant melodies, staccatos and crescendos of Tanja's celestial voice.
