Alexi Murdoch

Фолк, Acoustic, Инди

Alexi Murdoch is a singer‑songwriter. He was born in London and raised in Scotland, Greece and France. Years active — 2002 — present time. His music has been used in a variety of media, and he provided the soundtrack to the 2009 film Away We Go. His self‑published EP, Four Songs, was released in 2003, becoming the all time No. 1 selling record in CD Baby history. Murdoch's first album, Time Without Consequence, was released on June 6, 2006. This album peaked at #25 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

In the spring of 2009, Murdoch embarked on a rare U.S. headlining tour, during which he has been distributing a limited edition version of a new album entitled Towards the Sun that should become available later in the year.

Several songs by Murdoch have been used in TV and film productions.
The song «Orange Sky» appeared in The O.C., House, Prison Break, Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Ladder 49, Garden State, and in promotions for Paradise Now and Southland. Many of his songs are featured in the film Away We Go, while «All My Days» is included in the trailer.

Murdoch often draws comparisons to Nick Drake. Critics have said that Murdoch's «lyrics and vocals blend the mystery of Nick Drake with the warmth of a Cat Stevens or Gordon Lightfoot,» and that he has a «earnest, comforting voice and conversational, emotional delivery.»
