Just 2 years into their collaboration as Blackheart, singer Chrissy Mostyn and guitarist Richard Pilkington have become established for both their live concerts and their outstanding debut album ‘Indigo’
They spent their first year touring the UK with over 170 concerts playing with some British and American artists from Martin and Eliza Carthy and The Strawbs to Brian Kennedy and Steve Forbert to Eve Selis and Lucy Kaplansky whilst their album has won wide industry applause from both sides of the Atlantic. 2008 sees them headlining their own tour across the UK, Ireland and the USA.

Their song writing defies category but blends folk, country and even rock influences to create a unique style of beautifully crafted, instantly memorable songs that are earning them huge airplay in both the UK and the US. Their highly personal songs paint pictures of their lives with subjects such as hometowns, marriage, faith, redundancy, bereavement and even suicide all being treated with the sensitive, intellectual lyrical observation that is becoming the trademark of their work.

Their live shows combine their sublime harmonies and acoustic guitar playing with highly entertaining audience interaction as they tell the stories behind their songs. It is also indicative of their rising status as songwriters that their track ‘Unlike Water’ was chosen as the soundtrack to one of the biggest TV commercials of 2007.

Plans for 2008 include new album ‘Stories’ released in September plus a live album and DVD, a 120 date UK tour, a three week tour of Ireland in July/August where they have been invited to share the stage with Nanci Griffith, Ricky Scaggs and George Jones followed by a two week tour of the US in September and in November a three week UK tour as special guest of Jared Osmond, of the musical Osmond family.
